Behind the Lens

I am a landscape photographer based in Dorset in the south of England. My wife and I live in the shadow of the spectacular Iron Age hill fort, Hambledon Hill, which is situated in the north of the county. Photographing the Dorset landscape is very special to me as I have lived in the county all my life. I have also had a number of successes winning commended awards in 'Take-a-View’, the Uk's National Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and recently the acclaimed Jurassic Coast Photographic Competition 2013.

Commissions
As a full time freelance photographer I adopt a versatile approach to my photography, welcoming a wide range of commissions for business and personal clients in a variety of photographic styles from landscapes and architecture to still life and portraits. I specialise in landscape photography and produce images for stock libraries as well selling prints to both private and business clients. I also submit articles and photographs to magazines. I am available for commissioned work at competitive rates. Although most of my galleried images and workshops are based in Dorset, I am happy to travel and undertake commissions both nationally and internationally. Workshops
Another aspect of my work is leading landscape photography workshops for budding photographers of all levels and experience. I have an intimate knowledge of the prime photographic locations the county has to offer. My workshops are very much aimed at helping others to progress in their photography, first finding ways to improve camera techniques and then to develop the aesthetic skills. I have a big heart to encourage participants to raise their game to the next level in landscape photography, and to watch their 'WOW' reaction as they create great images they thought they would never be able to capture. I find this very rewarding.
