MY BACKGROUND
I have been running professional 1-2-1 and group workshops for about 14 years alongside my own photography work. In early 2021, due to the pandemic restrictions, I decided to stop the group workshops on safety grounds and concentrate solely on hosting 1-2-1 tuition experience days. This also tied in well with my desire to ease my personal work commitments; you might say I am working my way to an early semi-retirement.

(up to 8 hours)

THE 1-2-1 EXPERIENCE DAY WORKSHOP
A 1-2-1 photography experience day can be specifically tailored to you. Tony is an experienced photographer and tutor with a big heart to inspire and help others to learn new things. The aim is to provide guidance where you need it, whilst hoping you finish the day having enjoyed the experience, bagged some great photographs and at the same time improved your skills for the future. The 1-2-1 experience day workshop is for all levels of photographer from a total beginner through to aspiring professionals.
HOW IT WORKS
Firstly, you choose the length of the session you would like to do. Half or full-day options are offered. You can choose a day to suit your diary (subject to availability). The booking process couldn't be easier and simply involves making your payment and then completing an online form. If you are unsure about anything you can always contact me first.
ONCE THE DATE IS SET ASIDE
We meet at a chosen location at an agreed time - this can depend on where the workshop will be based. After we meet we will most likely begin the day at a local watering hole with a cuppa and chat about your photography and experiences. This is where we concentrate on where your needs are with your photography and how we can help you to move forward. Guidance will continue at your pace throughout. Tony has an extensive knowledge of Dorset and choosing suitable locations. The experience day is NOT an extreme adventure. Adjustments are always made for fitness levels and health considerations.
FOR THE BEGINNER
Sometimes receiving just a few minutes' personal help and guidance, concentrating on basic camera settings, can be just enough to open our eyes to our camera's capabilities. Spend a whole day being guided and this can be the platform to go forward. We are likely to cover good exposure techniques, controlling and making the most of the light, good composition and other creative methods like long exposures, good lens choices and using filters.
FOR THE EXPERIENCED
Alternatively, you may already have many years of photographic experience to draw on but are looking to further improve your landscape techniques. Just as with beginners, an experienced photographer can enjoy a 1-2-1 experience day, maybe concentrating on more advanced areas and aspects of camera craft instead. Sometimes photographers just like to be taken to interesting and iconic places and that's fine too. So there is something for everyone - all levels are welcome.
FLEXIBLE DATES
The 1-2-1 day can be arranged on a date to suit your diary, including weekdays, weekends, and even bank holidays. If you have a particular date in mind, please contact me. (Dates subject to availability).
