Plethora of Opportunities
One of the joys of hosting group workshops in Dorset is the ability to offer new and interesting locations alongside many of the well-known beauty spots. The west coast of Dorset can often be overshadowed by the likes of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove to the east, but venture just a few miles to the west and there is a plethora of opportunities to explore. I like to highlight my native roots in Dorset, having lived here all my life, so I make no apology for inviting fellow photographers from further afield to come and explore some of the beauty around us.
The Itinerary
We begin the day by meeting up in a village just north of Weymouth, a quayside town that itself can attract a visitor or two to practise their art forms. After our initial greetings we will take a short stroll to the nearby hostelry to partake in the English ritual of tea and coffee drinking. This is a good chance to soak up some photographic conversation and perhaps go over a few settings and techniques that will set us up for the day. Suitably refreshed, we will then venture out to do a lot of photography together at various locations.
Tuition & guidance
I will be on hand all day to offer pearls of wisdom to those who feel they would like to be guided on the parts of their photographic craft they feel they need to work on. I am always keen to meet photographers 'where they are' photographically and perhaps offer a little more to boot!
Camera Gear
Prior to the day, participants will be provided with a small list of suggested items to consider bringing along that could be helpful. No specialist equipment is necessary, though, so you can just bring your camera and enjoy the day!
Additional Information
- I recommend that we all bring a packed lunch and enough hot/cold drinks to last the day.
- We may have to allow for appropriate distancing at times. Using our own separate cars may be necessary between the locations.
- All levels are welcome, whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer.
Click on the 'book now' button and follow the payment procedure. After payment, you will be guided to a booking form to fill in, which will complete your booking. The system accepts Paypal and credit/debit card payments. For further details or alternative payment methods please contact me.

I really enjoyed the day, a great group atmosphere and I learnt a lot. Much to remember and practice, which means my goal was achieved. It was a good opportunity just to spend time taking photos and learning without the pressures of everyday life. Something that I will no doubt look to repeat in the future.
